HOLA! *special update for brandon, even though he shows up to every meeting anyway*

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time. I forgot for a week and then it became an experiment to see how long it would take for someone to mention it, i.e. actually check the blog and notice that it hasn't been updated. Which no one did. Except Brandon.

So anyway, to keep everyone abreast of what's going on right now, essentially we are decorating easter eggs for our beautiful easter fundraiser thing. We're making them into all kinds of crazy and cute animals, and monsters and things, Snooki was in there somewhere... so it's turning out really cool so far. We've only had one real work day on this, but I'm happy with how things are going. We'll be meeting every Thursday like that until the fundraiser, or we run out of easter eggs or both. Or if there are unforeseen circumstances of course. We have lots of weird and useful materials from left over scraps from the extinct weaving class, poof balls, googly eyes, tisssue paper, paint, and markers to go all out on these eggs, but we could probably use some feathers, glitter, and/or pipe cleaners still. The pipe cleaners would have to be the really fuzzy kind so that the glue will hold them to the egg and they don't fall off. And speaking of glue, if anyone can bring in another hot glue gun, that would be excellent. Also, we'll need some gift bags to put the eggs and candy in.
However, if you have already bought something, you don't need to worry about buying anything else!

Um, another thing. T-shirt test order should be coming, though I'll have to check with Ms. Altman to see if she ordered it yet, because if not, I'll do it myself with my credit card. I know everyone wants to get rolling on that!

Breanna said she looked into the expenses for a Chicago field trip, and depending on the day you buy tickets, it can be as low as $20 per person roundtrip to go there, but then we'd need a bus to transport us around for the day and admission for whatever museums or places we want to go. Our current balance in our account is $500 or so, and the easter fundraiser should bring in about $200 more, but we still need to use that money to buy graduation tassels for all of the seniors and various other unforeseen expenses. So Chicago probably isn't an option unless the people going can put in probably at least $100 of their own money. So the Frederick Meijer gardens are probably still our best bet. It's a huge sculpture park and garden- really beautiful- in Grand Rapids. While we're in Grand Rapids too, we can check out the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts galleries, which is free, and the Grand Rapids Art Museum. Admission for that is $7.00 for students, or if we go on Friday, $5.00. Scheduling a group tour would probably also lower the price. There are also tons of other galleries in and around Grand Rapids that we could go to, so we wouldn't get bored.

Another thing that Ms. Altman brought up a week or two ago was that there's a charity walk happening at the Detroit Zoo pretty soon and they asked if our NAHS would like to volunteer. Anyone who goes would get free passes to the zoo, and you don't have to be there all day. At least an hour or two volunteering for whatever. It might be selling t-shirts or water or pretty much anything. I'm not sure how many people we can send, but let me know if you are interested (which I'm sure most of you are). Be sure to bring a camera though and take lots of pictures! It's a good opportunity for anyone in photo or drawing to get some real life animal models for your projects. Of course, I'll have more information on it at the next meeting.

Pretty much that's it for the past few weeks.

P.S. We don't have a vice president anymore because Liz says she doesn't care anymore. So you don't have to bother her about coming to meetings or anything. Luckily, we have 6 other officers to turn to, so it's not even a big deal. We even have two floater semi-presidents. Just either way, don't count on Liz being around.

ARE YOU HAPPY NOW BRANDON?
